2008 GFCI's

GFCI Receptacle - New Code

The GFCI receptacles (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) we have in stock are available in several different colors and come in 15amp and 20amp. They include plate and screws and are individually boxed for resale. Before purchasing there is the Old Code 2003 GFCI and the New Code 2008 GFCI. This device replaces a conventional receptacle outlet. Should someone come in contact with a live or hot wire, this GFCI will detect a current leakage as little as 5 milli amps and will shut the power off almost immediately (1/40 of a second).

The National Electric Code requires the use of GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, basements and near swimming pools. UL 943 Complies with 2008 UL requirements. The 2008 GFCI protects against shocks from: Frayed wiring Appliances and tools with hazardous leakage levels. Protects from mis-wired line-load connection. Increased end of life and reverse line-load mis-wire function 125V AC only 15A at outlet 20A feed-through.
