Fluorescent lamps are more efficient than incandescent light bulbs. This is because a greater portion of the power used is converted to usable light and a smaller portion is converted to heat, allowing fluorescent lamps to run cooler and more efficient. A fluorescent lamp will last between up to 10 to 20 times longer than an incandescent lamp.
