Emergency Inverter System

Emergency Power Inverters

It is impossible to plan for every contingency, but you can rest assured that with aEmergency power inverter you can supply the necessary emergency power for safety and security with light power during any outage.

Correct Emergency Power Inverter Choice

Before you purchase emergency power inverters, make a list of all of the appliances that you will need to keep operational during a power outage.  After making the list, go to each one of the appliances and look for its service tag.  The service tag gives you a few important specs that help with selecting the correct power inverter size.  The first specification is usually voltage; this will be either 110,115, or 120vac.  Once you have all the information from your appliances, you will have a much better idea of what size emergency power inverter you need to buy.

What Power Inverters Provide

A power inverter supplies you with power while the power is off.  The battery charger in your power inverter unit charges and maintains the batteries when the power is on.

True Sine Wave or Modified Sine Wave Power Inverters

Advantages of True Sine Wave power inverters over Modified Sine Wave power inverters is that the output voltage wave form is pure (or true) sine wave, meaning it has very low harmonic distortion and clean power similar to the power provided by the electric company to your house.  Also, True Sine Wave power inverters work better with inductive loads such as your microwave, freezer or refrigerator motors.  It allows them to run quieter and cooler as they normally do when plugged in to your normal electrical power source at home.

If you are looking to run things like computers, photocopiers, some fluorescent lights, power tools using solid-state power or variable speed and other digital equipment, you may want to invest in a true sine wave power inverter. While they are more expensive, it may be better to have the equipment you need most when the power goes out rather than buying something that will not fit your needs.  True sine wave power inverters provide a cleaner power supply than modified sine wave power inverters.
